What Format Do I Need?

If you're new to your cutting machine, chances are you ask this question when you unzip a download file for the first time. Included in each of download cut files you will find EPS, DXF, PNG, and SVG files. We try to make sure that we lable all SVG files as such. However mistakes happen, or you may find that other cut file artists omit this information in their file names, so be sure to look for your internet icon. For example, if you use Microsoft Edge you know your internet icon has a green and blue swirl. This same icon is used by your operating system for SVG files.

You want to use EPS Files for the following software programs: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

You want to use DXF Files for the following software programs: Silhouette Studio Basic Edition (The Free Version)
You want to use SVG Files for the following software programs: Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or higher, Cricut Design Space, Sure Cuts Alot, Brother Scan N Cut

You want to use PNG Files for uses similar to clip art. These have a transparent background and are supported by nearly all programs. If you
are using this file type in any of the listed programs, please be advised that you may need to take extra steps to make this file function like you expect.
